What Are Microgreens?

Microgreens are young, delicate greens that are grown from the seeds of various herbs and vegetables. These greens are usually gathered when they reach a height of one to three inches, which typically occurs within one to four weeks after planting.

Microgreens are a nutritional powerhouse! Packed with vitamins and minerals like A, C, E, K, magnesium, iron and zinc. They are an excellent addition to any diet, freeze dried or fresh.

Higher Nutrient Density & No Pesticides

Microgreens are way more nutrient-dense than their mature vegetable counterparts. Studies have shown that microgreens contain higher concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This means you can consume less volume while still getting a significant amount of nutrients. Because of the short growth cycle and indoor growing conditions, our microgreens are grown with no pesticides. This makes them a cleaner, more eco-friendly option.

What makes freeze dried microgreens better?

The freeze drying process locks nutrients in and they do not degrade over time like fresh veggies do. This applies to vitamins and minerals but it also applies to other beneficial properties. For example, broccoli microgreens are high in polyphenols, a natural chemical compound with anticancer properties. However, the moment the microgreens are harvested, a chemical reaction occurs where the polyphenols begin to get used up. Instead of losing these beneficial properties over time, the freeze drying process preserves them. Allowing you to consume them in their peak nutritional state, while at the same time extending the shelf life significantly!

By freeze drying, the product is also condensed in the process, so you can have your daily dose of veggies in a 1/4 teaspoon. Add it to smoothies, mix it in your sauce, sprinkle it over your meal or take it in capsule form. The possibilities are endless!
